Varsity Volleyball Coach: Lonnie Wheeler

Coach Wheeler received his Graduate Degree from Georgia Southern College in 1984 and his Master’s Degree from Augusta College in 1993. He taught social studies for 28 years before his retirement in 2018. Coach Wheeler also served in the USAF from 1988 to 1993. Coach Wheeler began his Volleyball Coaching career at Mary Persons HS in 2001. In 2006, he became the inaugural volleyball coach at the newly opened Ola HS in McDonough, GA. During his time at Ola, the volleyball team would win 6 Henry County Championships, appear in 3 Elite Eights and 1 Final Four. In retirement, Coach Wheeler splits his days between coaching High School and Club Volleyball and visiting his two grandsons, Levi and Hiram.

Junior High Community Coach


This is Coach Seymour’s 7th year involved with ACE Volleyball as a Community Coach.
Coach Seymour played D1 Volleyball at NC State University, followed by a brief
Professional Beach career in the Women's Professional Volleyball Association. She was
a Middle Blocker for NCSU and still holds a career kill % at NC State. Professionally,
Coach Seymour holds an MBA from South Carolina, a BS Nursing from Macon State
College, and works as an RN locally. She is married to Frank Seymour (35 years) and
has 2 children: Nicole, 26, who graduated from Willamette University in Oregon, and CJ,
23, class of 2020 at ACE, who played baseball at Prairie State College in Illinois, and is
finishing a Marketing degree at Georgia Southern.
