Athletics
The mission of the ACE Athletic Department is to provide athletic programs that help develop the student-athlete through education and competition. The athletic programs will teach an attitude of discipline, sportsmanship and integrity. We will provide a competitive athletic program which complements and supports our challenging academic program by teaching student-athletes perseverance, leadership and teamwork.

WELCOME TO ACE ATHLETICS - Josh McLendon, Athletic Director
As you may know, our athletic program is just a few years old. We have grown quickly and have continued to add new sports each year since our inaugural year in 2014. We currently offer cheerleading (competitive and spirit), cross country, softball, football, basketball, swimming, baseball, soccer, track, tennis, golf and volleyball, which is our newest addition. We offer each of these sports at the junior high and senior high school level. Many of our sports also offer Junior Varsity or an intermediate program between junior high and varsity competition. We compete in GHSA region 2-AA.
At ACE, we believe athletics are an important complement to Academics and that athletics contributes to a well-rounded student experience. We offer weight-lifting classes throughout the day to help our student-athletes grow in strength and conditioning, allowing them to increase their ability to compete at the highest level. On the field, the coaches push these students to be their very best. I believe we have assembled a fantastic coaching staff here at ACE that will teach our ACE Scholars about perseverance, hard work, sportsmanship, how to push through adversity, time management, character, integrity and so much more. We believe these traits are valuable on the field, and in life.
We also believe that parental involvement is key to the success of our students. I would encourage you to get involved with your child’s team. There are many ways to donate and volunteer your time. Each team has an active booster club that helps with covering gate admission, concessions, fundraising, projects for the future and so much more. Our goal is for your students to have the best high school experience possible. Facilities, fields, equipment, uniforms and good coaches all add to the experience of a high school athlete.
Each sports team will have a participation fee associated with it that helps with field maintenance, coaching stipends and other expenses. Coaches should communicate about other fees and expectations associated with the various teams. As parents, we ask that you support the coaches and the process.
I am excited about another great year of ACE Athletics! We are “Macon History.”
