Coach Mitchel Wachtel

wacCoach Wachtel has completed 3 seasons as the leading the ACE Gryphons Cross Country Program. His 2018 Girls Varsity team won the Region Championship and were the 2018 State Championship Runners-up. He has been teaching math at various levels for the past 6 years and is currently teaching Precalculus and AP Calculus.  Coach Wachtel earned a bachelors in Mathematics from Middle Georgia State University in 2013. His coaching influences include Eric Taylor, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Justin Wachtel.


His family includes his wife Jennifer, son Jones (1) and his dog, Rob Thomas.



Coach Lea Anne Walters
lLea Anne Walters is in her 2nd year as the assistant coach of the Gryphons Cross Country team. This is her 14th year teaching, and she has been teaching Jr. High Chorus and Musical Theatre at ACE for 6 years. An avid runner, Mrs. Walters has completed multiple marathons and half-marathons. Coach Walters attended Mercer University where she received a Bachelor's in Music Education and a Master's in Choral Conducting. Her favorite runners to follow are Sara Hall, Deena Kastor, Emma Coburn, and Meb Keflezighi. Her family includes her husband, Jamie Walters, JD (4th Grade), Watson (2nd grade), Katie Rose (pre-k) and Happy the dog.
